member of the Piikani Nation within the Blackfoot Confederacy. She holds a diploma in Criminal Justice (Policing) from Lethbridge Polytechnic, a Bachelor of Professional Arts in Criminal Justice from Athabasca University, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is currently a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and an active member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta. In 2002, Roberta became the first Blackfoot Indigenous woman to serve with the Lethbridge Police Service. Her career spanned roles in Patrols, the Community Resource Unit, School Resource Unit, and as an FASD Youth Justice Officer. Roberta retired from Policing in 2019 having joined Lethbridge Polytechnic as a faculty member in the Justice Studies Program in 2017, where she continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of justice professionals. Roberta is married, a mother of two daughters, and a proud grandmother. While raising her family, working full-time, and volunteering in the community, she completed graduate studies. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mike enjoys spending time outdoors.
